Thanks for the information. I currently own a 03' chevy 1500HDwith the 6.0l and it gets anywhere from 10.5mpg to 12.5mpg! It is all over the road when pulling my horse trailer and sucks the fuel down. I am looking forward to owning a Dodge Cummins diesel 2500.

Thanks,
Rob

You guys say 16-18 and whatnot like it aint so good. My wrangler with the 4 banger gets that mileage. so for me getting 16-18 wit 350 hp and 610 lb ft of torque aint so shabby. I can't wait for mine to come in. dealer said he has no idea how long the order will take till my truck is here but i'm ok with waiting.
You must be getting one of the 6.7 CTD's. You'll have to keep us posted on that one how you like it and such.

Robster, if that's what kind of economy you're getting out of the gasser you're definitely gonna be happy with the Cummins. The only catch is that diesel is about 40 cents more per gallon than regular gas but if you do the actual math most of the time the cost per mile is about the same. In your case though - I'd think it's safe to assume you'll pick up 3-4 mpg maybe a little more - it may be that diesel cost per mile is cheaper.

20 to 21 mpg !! I know a lot of people with diesels and have done a lot of reading on many different forums and you're the first I've even seen or heard of with that kind of mileage. I got about 18 when I first bought my truck home. Now, with a programmer I'm lucky to get 15. You must be REALLY light on the pedal

I'm getting about 18-18.5 on the road @ 70 MPH. Before the "ULSD" and "Winter Blend" I was getting about 20 @ 70 MPH on the road. Pulling 7,000# up and down the "Grapevine" on I-5 I get about 15 @60 MPH. In town, which is only 15-20% of my driving, the milage is 14-15 MPG. My truck is an early 98 12 Valve Quad Cab Dually RWD.

Got an 06 and had an 05 and have never gotten better then 14 mpg even on highway. So dont expect to get 20 mpg because you probably wont.
