Default Motor noise

Im new to posting on this site, but have learned a lotby readingyall's posts over thelast year.I have a 2003 CTD with 83K miles. The truck has developed a noise that sounds like a rod knock. The dealer has removed the rod caps and inspected with nothing found.Removed the head took cylinder measurements (didnt remove the pistons),sent the measurements to cummins and everything has cheked out good. They said that they have tested the fuel pumps with nothing found including no error codes in the computer. The dealer wants me to pick it up and just drive it for a while.Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
John

Default RE: Motor noise

Should have ran the overhead when they put the head back on. Maybe a wrist pin is hanging up causeing the piston to hit the cylinder. Did they see any signs of scoring?Did they try a cylinder cut out test and see what one is causeing the noise?
