Default ROKK Adjustable Timing Sensor

These are only $70 and claim to give you better mpg power and torque. Anybody out there install one of these on a stock '06 CTD? I know the tone ring mod does the same thing but I'm not interested in that option. I don't want to take a chance with the engin warantee.

Mine should be here this week. I'll let you know what I think of it. My diablo predator should be here as well.

One thing they don't tell you until you get it is no cold idling, you have to start and be moving within a minute or less and it takes longer to warm up, but I guess you turn it back to stock position in the winter.

You can mod a stock one, all they do is remove the o ring and sand the o-ring grove smooth on the top so you can get some clock wards turn on it, I haven't seen the stock one as I haven't had the chance to put it in since I got two days ago, to see if they changed the bolt hole too

The only thing I saw about the ROKK tech sensors that made them knock in cold weather was if you had a chip or programmer that adjusted the timing as well. then it was adjusted too much in cold weather and if the ROKK tech sensor was adjusted down a bit you could get rid of it.

Instructions that came with the unit says no idling cold, start moving within a minute and say if you get a knock with it start using pieces of electrical tape on top of each other, each piece will give 10th of a degree

huh.
I guess I will find out. I did some research on it before I bought it and nobody stated that they had those issues unless they were running stacked boxes or some wicked set up like that

Do you guys have the high speed idle feature on your trucks? Not sure when the first year this option was available to be inabled by the stealership. I always use mine to help warm my truck up quicker.

Mine is controled with the cruse control just turning it on bumbs it up to 1100rpm. Mine will idle for 4 to 5 minutes before I leave for work. Hopefully this will not be an issue with installing the sensor.
