Default diesel power mag.

there are a couple of things that i have questions on.
1. a guy is running propane in his truck and says he sees an increase of 6mpg! anyone run propane? he doesnt see an any hp numbers but just on mpg
2. the one article about the ford" the trouble with twins" he has his exhuast wrapped and i brought this up a while back if we could wrap ours... does this mean its safe?
3.on the article " battle ram" he uses an ats co-pilot trans control thingy. wat does that do?
4. any one know where to get a set of clutches for an automatic tranny...wat do i need to do to handle 500hp.

#2. IIRC the only reason they wrap their exhaust is to protect some other parts or parts from the heat of the exhaust. I don't think its a good idea to wrap the exhaust on your Cummins as wraping it will hold the heat you want to get rid of as heat is the Enemy.

#1. . .I might have to call a little BS on this since propane only helps spark off the combustion cycle. . .it's like raising the octane level on gasser engines.

#2, chuck is right. . .it is just to keep the heat away from other components that are not friendly to heat. . .I can see this engine being just as disasterous as the 6.oh-no.

#3that ATS controll box your talking about forces the torque converter to lock up before the PCM commands it. mainly used in 05 and earlier trucks since the 06's have that command line built in.

#4, ATS, or suncoast will do you good on a good tranny to hold 500hp.

#1 I agree that propane is a combustion enhancer so in theory you should see both a little mpg and hp
#2Ihave been into racing for years, the idea behind heat wrap is to A- protect heat sensitive items and B- contain heat in the exhaust for a specific distance thus aiding in rappid cooling down the exhaust path which will help scavenging effect( a low pressure suction inside the exhaust) This sort of idea will gain you hp's but on a very minimal level, im mean like .2-.5 hp at the wheels.
#3 I couldnt have siad it better.
#4 I agree completely, just buy a built one with a warranty instead of trying to build one, nothin but a headache.
