Yikes, with todays emissions that would be hard I think. You would need all the pollution crap in there, which would then be under the hood, which holds lots of heat and would increase heat in the engine compartment.
Now, if you could do it without worrying about emissions then it becomes a little easier.
Going to move this over to the cummins section to let the experts chime in, I am a gasoline kind of guy!

First, you need to check your local state law. Many states require the exhaust to exit behind the driver.
If it's legal, it's pretty simple to do. Depending on your turbo, just turn the outlet elbow up, instead of down, and custom make a short pipe straight up. Then close the hood to where it hits, and thats where you cut the hole.

One thing to consider, is that, unless you run a tall stack out of the hood, you might be cleaning your windshield and roof everyday....even more so as you do some mods.

If you don't want to go high, then at least get a stack with a turn-out.

The hood travels in an arc when it opens so you would have to have a long slot in the hood or be able to remove the stack before opening the hood.
