Default High EGTs w/ loss of power...whats the deal?

Ok so in the past month I've put the Bully Dog Triple Dog on the truck along with putting on a set of 18 inch rims with 325/60/R18 (33x13s) Nitto Terra Grapplers....thats the only mods that have changed since the last time I've towed my race trailer. When I was running the Edge EZ I was getting EGTs around 700-800 (post turbo) running 70-75 MPH down the interstates or turnpikes. In the past couple of trips with the trailer, I've been getting steady temps around 800-1000 running 70-75 MPH and getting a loss of power once I hit that speed and EGT.

I've put the truck back to stock and got the same result. I've un-installed the TripleDog and put the EZ back on....same result. I stacked the BullyDog with the EZ over the weekend and still the same results.

I just dont know what to think. Do you think the increase in tire size caused this? Truck runs like a champ otherwise. I checked the air filter...its clean. I checked all clamps on the turbo, intake, intercooler, etc....all those are tight. I'm getting good boost #s as well. About 10 PSI cruising down the road, 25-30 PSI at WOT, and 20-25 PSI when I am towing...

Any ideas on the reason for the raise in EGTs?

your running some big meat on that truck. . .just more stress on the drive line, this is why your engine is haveing to work harder (higher EGT's) to maintain the same speed.

I agree with what you're saying but I mean, they're just 33s. I know of several guys with bigger tires that still tow without any issues really....

Oh well...guess I can still truck it down the road at 70 MPH and just go with it.

Actually put in a new fuel filter this past week....usually change it every 5k miles. Did seem to run a bit better...filter was pretty nasty. Also dumped in a decent amount of PowerService to do some serious injector cleaning...

The MAP sensor should be fine. I plugged the Edge EZ in the other day and it didnt throw any codes or a CEL which what has happened to me before when I didnt get the MAP connected good enough...

Drew do you think my injection pump might be trying to go south maybe? Bully Dog said it sounded like the truck was starving for fuel. I did kill my lift pump in December...possibly it damaged the injection pump when it went out? But then again...the truck runs great otherwise. Even still getting 17-18 MPG with the new big meats...

since you mentioned that the lift pump went south. . .did you get one of those in tank jobbies??? I'm not so confident about the whole workings of those pumps under modified conditions. the pressure to the CP3 is made but some sort of 'swirling' action inside the pump houseing, and only a small percentage of the fuel the pump brings in actualy goes to the fuel line to the CP3, the rest of it is used to create the swirling action to create the pressure.

this is the main reason why when mine goes south. . .I aint taking it to the dealer, and I'm upgradeing the fuel lines from the tank to the CP3 and then to the fuel rail with either a big line kit or a dual line and yank off that pop off valve.

anyway, the CP3 was not dammaged, it is quite a bit more robust than the VP44 when it comes to fuel starvation.

when my map went out it would act up off and on.it would flash a code ,act up then go back to normal, and it was really bad if i was towing.anyways that was just my 2cents,lol
