74k on a diesel is nothing.....and to be honest....that's about the range they finally break in.....and for the price.....sounds like a pretty good deal. Of course you want to have it looked over by a mechanic.....and check for all the obvious recalls/TSB's available....but I think you'd probably get a steal for that price. Chances are it's priced low due to being an 03....but that's still a good price....

Buy a 12 valve...........Rhino liner the body.....and dump the rest of your $$$$$ into upgrades like injectors, a turbo, and delivery valves.

Don't waste your time with those electronic dreams....LOL.

Good luck with your ride.

I would try to find an early 98 12 Valve Quad Cab. in excellent condition. You may need to look a while and go some distance to find a good one, as long as there is less than 200,000 miles on it, and if everything checks out, BUY IT. Upgrade the transmission, Tq.Conv. or Clutch depending on transmission type, then put a few mods on it and enjoy. You can have a great truck for $12,000-$15,000 when you are done modifing it. Ive. got $18,000 in mine but I went "OverKill on the transmission TQ/Transmission.
Just my $0.02

That sounds like a good deal i am also looking for a diesel and i found a real nice 02 regular cab with 68k miles for 20k so thats just a comparison to show you what they go for. Also I prefer the 24v motor but thats preference. Have it checked out its got plenty of life as long as it has been maintained.

not too shabby. . . .I'd get it, however I would also keep my eye out for a 94-98.4 12 valve. those trucks are the shiznit. however the HPCR engine under the hood of that 03 will do you very well when it comes to performance mods.

Last January (2005) bought my truck for $22,900 (before rollover of other truck) and it had 62k miles. Now this weekend I am refinancing I hope- and with 79k miles its at $22,600 the bank said. And mines a 2001!
