Im thinking of just going with my one AERO. instead of the dual.

It seems real quiet to me with the two. I like it loud. LOL

so if anyone wants one shoot me a PM I'll sell it for a good price and even give you enough pipe to do a muffler delete.

the aero is not even 2 months old

I have the Aero 4040 without the resonator. I love it! When the truck shifts into overdrive and I am running about 55-60, damn it sounds like a big rig rolling down the road. Very throaty sound and it's not crazy loud...well not to me anyway.

What does that do to the low end torque and the MPG?

So what does everyone thing of the noise / drone in the cab with a 4040XL.

That's is one thing I'm concerned with. My last 3 trucks have been opened up and the drone at highway speeds drove me nuts.

Honest opinions....noise & drone.

if it is installed near the axle the drone is almost none existant if installed in place of the cat or closer the drone might kill you

Keeping the cat. I don't want ignorant loud, just wanna make sure it has a strait shot out the back.
Loose the cat ... it's not that loud at all.

I think your worrying too much. Like God Ram It said, if you're worried a ton about drone, mount it back at the axle where the stock muffler was and you'll be fine. I have no cat, resonated Aero mounted wher the muffler was, and I love it. I couldn't be happier.

BTW: Did I mention that I was going to Daytona next week? Are you going?

Nope...I gotta work, I have a ton of change over crap to do before I leave. I'll be using up most of my leave time in April and the beginning of June before I head to South America, so no Bike Week this year.

It's probably notso much the drone of the exhaust that drives me nuts.........it's the drone of the wife as she complains about the truck being loud.
