Default r.p.m.'s

is it better to keep the r.p.m.'s up when driving in town,or keep them down.wondering if i keep it around 1600-2000 as much as possible if it will help on mileage?

thats the best place. . .since the more RPM;s your run the more boost you produce, and the pump has to push more fuel to match the boost.

I try and keep mine between that range as well. unless theres a ricer or idiot mustang thats just asking for it

Them ricer idiots do have a tendancy to kill your mpg.
But it is nice to be able to teach them what torque is all about especially when they are trying to impress their girfriend sitting next to them.

Speaking of RPMs... I threw my 06 6speed in 4lo yesterday for the first time and was amazed. 6th gear, rpms about 1200, and my speed was only 13mph. Impressive.

I pulled a mobile home off of a lot in 4-Low a couple weeks ago, eased the clutch out in first gear and it barely needed any throttle

I drive on US-1 frequently, and for some reason those ricers love to Try and cut around me... I love introducing my good friend to them, the black cloud of death!
