2500 2006 DIESEL
Two questions...I am changing out the small power mirrors to the large tow mirrors...any one done this and what is required to make the change? Also, I had a 2002 Ram 1500 that I could change the serpintine belt in about 10-15 minutes...the belt on the diesel looks more involved...what is required to replace belt? Thanks.

Mirrors should be easy. Mine aren't power, but all it took to change them was to pull the door panel off and remove 3 nuts. Old mirror came off (be sure to catch it!). Reverse for the install.
The power connection should be the same for either style mirror, so it should just be a matter of pop the plug loose when you unbolt the current and plug it back into the new.
Took me about 15 minutes to do both doors.

I replaced mine (2006 2500) and it was reall easy, took about 30 minutes to do both doors. There is one large Phillips headscrew toward the top of the door and two at the bottom of the plastic door panel. There is also one of those funky hex head bolts holding in the interior door latch handle that you need to remove. The plastic door panel then lifts up vertically from the door.
Three nuts to remove the mirror and then you put the new one on.
The Hex head bolt that holds the release latch is a tricky one, It is a fine thread and you could mis thread it while putting it back in. I would recommend that you have the hex driver on the end of an extension and try to put it back in without a ratchet. You'll much more easily be able to tell if you are about the put it in wrong.
Once you have it part way in switch to the ratchet to tighten it up but dont over tighten.
I think that will cover it. bet let me know if you have a problem.I can look at mine when I get home.
