Default jet A

Has anyone tried using "JET A" in their Cummins?
Fuel sevices at the airport are required to take a sample of fuel approximently 1 gal every day from every tank and fuel truck they have. Also they are not allowed to return the samples to the aviation system.
This could be an inexpensive fuel sorce if it will work without hurting the engine.

I know that some older diesels run quite well on A1 (don't know about common rail engines though), but it holds less energy per volume than the diesel so you won't get full power out of the engine. I'd recommend mixing. Also heard that a dash of two stroke oil with the jet fuel is good since it's "dryer" than diesel.

The Jet A doesn't have the lubricants that #2 has. It'll run, but it'll do a number on the injectors and injection pump. It also runs hotter than #2. We've dumped it into the HMMWV's, but always had to run a Qt or 2 of oil in it.

I wouldn't run it in your CTD.
