Default plow prep package/leveling kit

my 03 has the plow prep package. when i order rims and tires, ill probably order a leveling kit too. but ive heard that the plow prep package has taller springs in the front to help with the added weight of a plow. is this true? with the plow prep package is my truck already "level"? will getting leveling spacers make it unlevel?

thanks guys

the springs are just stiffer than normal, they may add a little height, but not much

You may want to do a test fit before you buy the level kit if you are leveling to add bigger tires. I have the plow prep and it adds about an inch or so of height. I found this out the hard way when they installed my 3" procomp lift. I had to add some 1.5 blocks to the rear to make the truck look level, but it still favors the front.

mrslug, so what you are saying is with the plow prep package, i technically only need 1inch spacers to make the truck level?

Basically what your asking is if the leveling kit will still work, yes it will. But you said that the plow package adds some height, if you think that it looks pretty good now, then dont get a kit. They are going to add 2-3", usually 2.So whatever the size of the kit it will add that many inches from the center of the hub, if your springs already approx 1" then most likely your truck will not look right (higher in the front) with a leveling kit

but does the plow prep package deffinately mean that the truck is 1"higher? or does it just look it? do the plow prep springs actually make the front end sit higher?
