Are you talking about the turboback MBRP becuase I put a catback on mine and it's quiet until you get on it. I love the way it sounds.
So you still have the cat on there, right? It will be fairly tame with the cat, as it does muffle the sound somewhat.

Remove the cat and it'll be quite a bit louder and definitely harsher.

so Drew, your telling me to leave the stock 3.5 inch downpipe off the turbo and basically do a 4" catback correct? Is that to keep up the exhaust flow and to help build some power?.........Dallas
No, you WANT the 4" down pipe. That's where the greatest heat is, minus the turbo it self. The 3.5" pipe, while not a big restricttion, is a restricted spot.

Right, catback here. And if he's looking for quiet that's definitely the way to go. Also on the cheap as was suggested somewhere else he could get just a muffler and retain the stock 4" pipes.

Yup, both Magnaflow and MBRP make a direct replacement for the stock muffler. They include the s-pipe to fit the change in elevation from the stock muffler,

ok guys, just got out from under the truck, from theturbo back the pipe is 3 inches, then it goes into I would assume its a resignator 7 inches in diameter and 14 inches long. from there its a 4 inch pipe about a foot long that goes into the muffler then 3 inches the rest of the way so I would assume that I dont have a catalitic converter, just the resignator and muffler. All have the factory logos so I am guessing that its all a stock system so I figure that I would need the turbo back 4 inch system correct.......right now with the stock exhaust, what settings should I have on the Edge w/attitude as far as egt's go ....what temp shouldnt I go over, have it set at 1150 right now............Dallas

I have a 98, and that sounds like the same set up I "had".

Your still have a little room to wiggle then. You want to keep it under 1250 for any extended period of time. I have mine set to alarm at 1250 and defuel at 1300.

If any of the parameters that you set are exceeded, the Juice will back off the fuel and timing until either, A - the exceeded parameter comes in check, or B - It has cut out everything it can.

It will only cut back to stock settings, not below that. So if you are exceeding, let's say your EGT setting, and it has cut back everything extra, you may still exceed the EGT with your trucks stock program. Which then, your only choice then is to back out of the throttle.

The most I've had mine back down was 22% and that was for boost. I romped on it, hit the boost alarm (38 psi), hit the boost cut out (40 psi) and then it came right in check. I've had it back down 16% or so for EGT and about 11% for tranny slip.

The box is as safe as you want to make it. You can set the limits at any point that you feel comfortable with.
