Default Dodge Question

Hey guys I have a question that someone might be able to help me with. My old 92 dodge dakaota with the 5.2 L engine has been having some issues. It has developed a miss or stumble when your are constant or at a set speed on the accelarator pedal. I have changed everthing from the computer down to the spark plugs to solve the problem with no luck yet, ( computer, distributor, hall effects pick-up, coil, dist. cap, dist. rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs, and even the fuel pump. I have also replaced the O2, throttle positioning, crankshaft sensors.
The local dodge dealer has not identified the problem after paying them $600.
I even flushed the fuel system.
I am now leaning towards the timing chain. I have approximately 10 degrees play in the timing chain as indicated by no movement of the distributor shaft of #1 cyclinder at top dead center and reading the degrees from the timing marks on the crank shaft. I feel that 10 degrees play is beyond specifications. I am hoping to get feed back from someone that might have experience with this in the past.

lesimon, I know we're gonna get it from the fellow users here asking about "gassers" problems, I too have an 2001 dakota QC (wife's truck) which is real sluggish Stealers can't figure it either. But have you tried the Dakota forum?

And I will qualify myself before one gets crapped on .....
LONG LIVE THE DARK SIDE....

Yes we have tried the other forum with no luck yet, I am familiar with some the members here and feel that they are very knowledgable and may have a solution that I have not tried yet. I would probably bet that a lot of them have had gas powered Dodge trucks prior to the diesels therefor they are an invaluable reasours of information/experience. thank you for your input though.
As for your truck check the Oxygen sensor. I had the transmition replaced and kept taking it back complaining that it lacked the power that it used to have. After two months of driving it, and it was getting worse. I finally found that they had broke the O2 sensor right off, when they did the transmition. I Replaced the sensor and the truck had the power that it used to have. I would think that the dealers would find the O2 sensor but it is worth a look. Good Luck

the early 5.2's and 5.9's have a 2 piece intake manifold with a cover plate on the bottom of the intake. the pan gets loose and sucks the gasket in.
it creates a vacuum leak and usually has increased oil consumption. it can sometimes be checked with a vacuum guage. i am not sure the results
of 10 degrees in the timing chain. good luck.
