seatbelt light

Default seatbelt light

so i was driving home in my 1998.5 cummins yesterday and the seatbelt light came on and would not go off. i uncliped my buckel and redid it shut the truck off and reastarted but to no avial. is there somthing wrong that it is trying to tell me or is it just a glitch. well not really a big deal just wanted to see if neone knows what it was thanks

Just a Glitch. Look under the seat , there should be a connection coming up through the carpet to the seat belt, unplug it and see if the light goes out. It should only be 1 or 2 wires. it could be the drivers seat or the passenger. I used to do upholstery work and Most of the cars would already be unplugged for the same reason. Good Luck. Make sure not to unplug the power seat connection.

probably a bad switch in the buckle.
