You need to make sure that you are using the right diesel fuel. If you are not using ultra low sulfer diesel fuel, the problem will never go away. Read on the pump and make sure it says ULTRA low sulferdiesel.

How much highway driving do you do? The computer won't burn off the soot in the DPF unless you get some highway miles in there, at least that is how I think it works. I know they had an update to the computer that helped fix this issue.

my dad has a 07 6.7L 3500 megacab shortbed dually which has been in the shopmore than50 times in the last 9 months. (no exageration!!!)he has filed for lemon law and they are just jackin him around! [:@]he has made calls to his dealership managers sat down with them, called dodge directly, the states attorney and everything here to there. he has been back to the dealership 3 times this week. he's had the particulate filter changed 2 times, reset computer codes every time, pulled the original turbo out and put in a new one, updated computer codes, flashed the computer i dont know how many times, and he's been to the dealer 3 different times in one day before. go in in the morning with check engine light on, they'll flash the computer, he'll pull out of the lot and the light would come on within 2 miles. and on and on. you get the idea. we have had NOTHING but mopar vehicles since 1999 and love them. weve had 7 or 8 2500 5.9 cummins and NEVER a single problem! i have a jeep my mom has a jeep my girlfriend has a jeep and weve all had them since 2000. we love dodge and chrysler products, but never expected this from the new 6.7 diesel. he loves the truck even though he's been through all this crap.

Wow, Sorry to hear of all the problems with the 6.7L. Hopefully they'll get it all straightened out real soon. I'm sure they are still working the bugs out with these new engines and all the new pollution control equipment on them. I bought my '07 2500 with the 5.9L last May 2007. According to thesalesman, there was only one left on the lot with the 5.9L at the time. The other pickups had the new 6.7L. If I waited any longer, I probably wouldn't be able to get one with the 5.9L in it.This is my first Dodge diesel pickup and I love it. I've had no problems with it (knock on wood). The '95 GMC 6.5L diesel that I had before can not hold a candle to this truck, even though the old truck had been a good truck for me.

All this negative 6.7 talk is making me nervous. I have had mine for 4 months now, and have 5,150 miles on it and havent had any problems other than an oil leak and now my stereo. How many miles did your dads truck have on it before the problems started?

I bought my truck new from the dealer with 4900 miles (dealer demo) and have put another 3000 trouble free miles on 'er in 6 weeks. Not a single CEL for me so far. This is my daily driver and weekend camper tow rig, I always put in ULSD from a reputable station and always use my jake brake.

Of course you know I just jinxed myself ...

Mike
