That is great!
Did your truck also only have the one code P1689.
When I had my injection pump replaced it still did the same thing.
Hope I don't have to replace it again..........

My truck had the 1689 and 1693 witch im told is just saying the 1689 exist in the computer and is nothin to pay attention to.
I replaced both my lift and injection pump. just went with the ddrp fass pump and stocker injection. When i orderd the pump i made sure it came with a new upgraded ecm. some places i called just left the old one on and shipped it out. kinda if it didnt need replaced why fix it mato. hope you get it runnen hate to pass a fellow cummins

Dealing with the same issue truck has 79,000 miles all the grounds are good I checked the wires between the injection pump and ecm all ohm'd out fine. The thing that helped the most is I hooked up the cummins go no go box to the injection pump before I went and spent the money on the pump and it tested out fine. The issue was a bad ecm what can kill the ecm is if you arc'd a battery cable or if you have ac voltage "mine was a battery cable" ac voltage coming from your alternator my ac voltage was .01 if it is higher than .1 you have a bad alternator, ecm and just hope it didn't get the computer on the vp44. This can be tested by placing a volt meter on the driver side or passenger side battery start the truck check for DC voltage and make sure it's charging then turn your volt meter to ac voltage still hooked to the battery. This will tell you if you have ac voltage feeding back.
