price check on a dodge 2005 deisel..
Looking at picking up a deseil.. I have never owned one before so I have tried to do a lot of research first.. I have found it hard to price used ones out though..
What I am looking for is a truck that is going to last me awhile.. I put on about 20 000km's a year. I haul about 3500 pounds of water 5 times a week to my house. I want the 5.9L cumins based on my reading..
anyways I found this truck.. worth the price or??

Personally doesnt look to bad, friend of mine just bought an 06 for 28K. Its kind of what you are looking for in general for your truck. Obviously everyone has there favorite brand, I have always been with cummins because of there reputation and versatility. We have 3 tractors 2 pickups and 2 combines all with a 5.9L or 8.3L cummins, and all we have ever needed to do is change the oil, one tractor was bought new in 89 so they last pretty good.
All the dodge cummins are great trucks, its kind of what you want to spend and what you want in general. They all, just like any other truck, have there problems, NO ONE can build a perfect, problem free truck.
I can't say for sure what the potential issues with this one are, but for me like my 02 all the 98-02 24v's are known for having the lift pumps fail. Personally mine has 192K miles on the factory installed one. My dad has an 04 6spd and the only issue we have had after 100K miles is the lift pump failed, but is was covered under warranty by cummins so it was free.

Get the transmission checked before buying
God bless Dodge for having their heads up their asses when they built these trucks. Dropped the ball hard with the transmission they put on these Cummins.
Just lost the transmission on my truck and my boss has been through 2 OEM transmissions before doing a custom built one.
