Default 1/8 mile drag. Any Suggestions?

Hi there,

I'm running my first 1/8 mile drag this weekend. I've never done it before so any suggestions would be appreciated. QC so I'm curious if I should be manualy shifting or should I place it in drive and just step on it.............

I never driven the QC, but generally speaking D without OD is what you want to do.

Bring the RPMs up to 2500RPM, release the brake and nail it. Maybe the QC guys will chime in, but that is what I recommend based on how I launch (2500-3000) popping the clutch.

These trucks do better in a full 1/4. Generally 60 times are poor due to launch technique and traction issues, which is why the 1/4 is good, you can pickup ground in the last 1/8.

I appreciate that very much. I'm guessing I may have to let a little pressure out of my tires to help w/traction. Maybe drop them down to 25 or so........Any thoughts on Exhaust. I'm taking it in today.Flowmaster 40's or Magna flow?

Hello and welcome to the world of SRT-10 owner. I have made one trip to the track and can tell you from experience that you will need to let air out of the tires, or you will go up in smoke. Engage the towing option, and I suggest starting at 25psi and working from there. Roll through the water box and heat the tire.I launched from about 1000-1500 rpm.left it in drive and had good success off the line. I had an 1/8th time of 8.869 @ 80.42. Not bad for a 6000 lb truck. Keep in touch!!!!

Exhaust suggestion, if you can get away with it where you are, dump the cats! I have a DIY for a full exhaust upgrade in the Do It Yourself post at the top.
