Unhappy Lifter tick......

My truck has 20,000 miles and has developed a lifter tick. It is under warranty so I took it back to the dealer. The dealer says that the tick is normal and no replacement is necessary. This does not sound right to me. Anybody else have this problem?

If it is a Hemi, it is something that most Hemis have.

There have been reports of it. Mine does not really do it, but then again it is noisy, I could not hear a lifter tick from the cab that is guaranteed.

What filter and what oil are you running?

Default Lifter tick

I was using Mobil 1 Synthetic 0 - 40 and this time went with the Royal Purple 5 - 40. The idiot at the dealer told me I was using a non-recommended oil and that it would void my warranty. He wanted me to pay for an oil change, I refused. Now I'm in a urinary trajectory contest because he charged me $344.00 to check the lifter to see if there was a defect. The vehicle has 20,000 miles and I purchased the extended warranty to 60,000 miles. He also wants me to bring in all my maintenence records because he says that I violated the warranty by not following schedule "B" which is required for my truck. I went 4,000 mile on the old oil. Brandywine Smyrna Dodge in Smyrna, DE. His name is "Stu". I think it's short for "Stupid"!!!!!
