Default oil pressure

own a 04 srt 10 and have noticed during braking that my oil presure falls under 40 psi, it has tripped the check gages. I have had the oil changed and filter before this happened, any ideas?

Hot @ idle under 40 is normal (from what I can recall since it has not been out for over a month). But the lights are not. How low does it go?

Never heard of oil pressure issues before...

If you slip it out of gear and coast does the oil pressure fall and the lights come on?

got it back from the dealer, apparentely it was a "bad" oil filter and they replace it, since then no probs. Thanks for responding.

What brand did you have in it? I only use the Mopar filter in my SRT. I used a M1 and Fram, both caused a whine at startup, almost sounded like a turbine spinning up.

it was done at the dealer, wich I of course assume would be a MOPAR filter. I noticed my oil cap says 5W-30 but the book says 0W-40, wich is right? Dealer said they put 0W-40 in. Just curious--

2004 should get 10W-30. The cap and the manual both say 10W-30. It is all I ever put into mine. This is a hot topic amoung SRT owners... Dodge may have changed it in 05, that I do not know.
