Picked Up my SRT w/STS Turbo
ive seen some videos online of a boosted SRT10 running smaller rims and slicks, i knew that they were smaller than the stock 22s, but they also looked smaller than 18s. is the diameter of the braknig assembly the issue, or is it the depth of it?
Opps, wasnt too clear there.
My 96 is a genII Ram, not a Dak & Im trying to double the boost for next year as well. Im stroking and going forged parts & lower cr to run higher boost.. If Im lucky when Im done Ill see over 500rwhp (700flywheel) Not sure when I will be finished everything though, I have a lot of work to do.

Strat,
That was probably a Hennessey truck you saw in the video. It had the rear brakes changed out so the rims and slicks would fit. There is a kit available for doing that. That's all fine if all you're doing is drag racing but for all other applications from all around driver to road racing, the brakes are one of the best things about this truck. The problem is the diameter of the brake assembly.
Sorry Indy,
50 year old eyes looking at the screen and your signature without my glasses. I put my glasses on and guess what, it IS a Ram, not a Dakota! How heavy is your truck? You'll love how it runs with those power numbers. Plus, you'll be able to get some real tires on there.

LOL, not too worry, I look back at some of my posts and think, hmm should of put my glasses on before replying
I started my Rams diet back in 97. Ive been running it with MT Sportsman fronts 28x7.5 and ET streets 28x12.5 on Weld Draglite rims since 98.
This year I added at least 150lbs with blower, intercooler, pump, gauges and reinstalling the stereo, etc etc. I did make one full pass with the blower this year before tucking her away. Only had the stock computer back in it, disabled my smt6 piggy back(laptop tuning) so I was rpm and mph limited with no tune(just fmu). I had extra weight on the truck and gas cause it was a cool day (traction). Figure I was sitting at the line at about 4200-4250lbs (w/me in it).
PS. I liked your vid but it left me wanting more. 2 I uploaded are on the same page as yours on Streetfire
Heres a vid of the first full pass w/7psi (strong headwind)
Next year figure I should have its low race wt back down to around 4000lbs even with driver. If I cant sort out the smt6 issues I will run the MP PCM and a boost retard. Following year probably switch to a FAST standalone. Figure at the worst I will be low 12s, any luck hi 11s.

That thing runs hard! Very cool! Fun videos to watch. How did that GT like getting whooped by a truck in spite of his spray? Thanks for sharing that. That's a great weight for a truck. I'm guessing you should be able to run 11s easy.
Thanks, Im sure the Stang driver was a bit suprised. To be honest I was too, thought he would give me more of a race. I hope your right on the 11s but I dont want to get ahead of myself and jinx things lol.
Im curious what you are controlling fuel and timing with? The STS kit for the 8.3 use aux injectors or upgrade the stock ones?
Your setup sounds wicked!!!

It uses the stock injectors with four auxilliary injectors designed by Sean Roe of Roe Racing. He's one of the top Viper guy in the country. It also has a piggyback auxiliary PCM that is basically a VEC II with a couple of Sean Roe improvements added.
I was quite pleased with the sound. I actually have people rolling down their windows just to listen. Lots of folks want to talk about it at stop lights. I've even had really loud bullet bikers hear it through their helmets and over their bikes and want to chat at the next light. It's a lot of fun but took away any chance at being a sleeper. I'm interested to hear it with the extra boost. I might have to put some kind of a muffler on it afterall.

Sounds like a good setup, are the aux's injectors installed in the intake manifold? How many lb? Dont wreck it with mufflers, no chance of sleeper now, so go with it!
LOL, I know what you mean about the stop lights. Top 3 questions, is that a turbo or blower, how much hp and how fast is it? You have me curious now too, I hadnt given much thought to exhaust tone/volume till now. Look forward to seeing/hearing your next video [sm=yikesomg.gif]
