Default SRT-10 swap into 4x4 2500

Hey guys, new to the forum. Anyway, down to business. I have a 2005 Cummins quad cab 4x4 an I got this crazy idea to do a swap with an 8.3 SRT-10 engine. There is a 2005 Ram SRT-10 that just showed up in a semi-local wreck yard, they told me the guy driving it ran a red light and a full size Chevy van t-boned it in the bed on the drivers side. They are wanting $7,000 for the truck, engine and all, so I thought I might pick it up and do an engine swap and sell the cummins to make my money back, at least partially. My only problem is I don't know about what all will need to be swapped with the motor. I don't think the cab will work so I'm pretty sure I will need to switch the cabs so the 8.3 will fit properly. I am planning on getting a suncoast 4x4 48re with the input shaft and converter to fit the SRT-10 so there shouldn't be any problems with the tranny fitting. Motor mounts is another question yet to be answered, and will the computer fit into 2500 out of the SRT-10? Any answers are appreciated, and anyone else feel free to ask questions because the only dumb question is the one you don't ask, everyone has to learn sometime. Thanks guys!

Your going for a Diesel to gas? Aaaa, Your going to have lot more parts too swap then just a engine.. Fuel pumps, wiring, computers, exhuast, fuel tank, fuel lines, pump, steering box. motor mounts, rad, a/c relocation. But if you have the time and the tools, removing all the parts could be an big project too under go. But if all the drive train is good and its not leaking anywhere you could be okay. You might need too see if the cross member for the tranny is damaged but nothing wielder and time can't fix.

I Will buy that Cummins!!!! But why would you want to convert from diesel to gas? cheaper? performance? Im looking at that list that "ThugRen" provided. Thats a lot of replacing. Wouldn't it be easier to just buy the 2005 Dodge with the srt-10 engine already in it?

Sale your Cummins & take that money & buy a 10. It would be cheaper. Less $$$ & less work. Otherwise you will have your $$$ in a mixed breed that you won't ever be able to sale. Since they don't make the 10 any longer parts are very expensive & hard to find. Stay with your cummins, unless you have a lot of time & $$$$$$.

Why would you ditch a cummins for a gasser. That's like saying well I currently have a beer but I'll trade it for your coffee. I mean both are good but common when you already have it keep it.

Keep the cummins. Take all the dollars that it is going to put into this Franken Truck & buy Banks performance parts to get to your 500HP. It will be cheaper.
