Saleen S331: You guys worried about this at all?
I definitely think its a good competition for the SRT-10....a much better version of an SVT Lightning. Saleen, unlike everything else Ford, does their modding well and his company is one of the few I give mad respect to. This beast will come with 325hp in a 3 valve config and a 450hp/500ftlb torque in the SC version...which isnt bad at all. It's also a clubcab, not a regular cab, which is a plus.
Here's an excerpt from the site:
The Saleen Supercharged Sport Truck packs a punch at 450 bhp @ 5200 RPM, and with 500 lb-ft of torque @ 4000 RPM which is due in part to the unique, patented, high-flow Saleen Series VI integrated twin-screw supercharger. Here, air is compressed through the twin screws and then runs through the dual-stage, water-to-air intercooler, which reduces the intake air temperature. With this cool, dense air, the Saleen Powerflashâ„¢ performance calibration system radically increases the power and performance.
In recognizing the trend of consumers wanting more choices, the Saleen Sport Truck will be offered as a normally aspirated, 3-Valve Sport Truck, which offers 325 bhp @ 5000 RPM, and with 400 lb-ft of torque at 4000 RPM.
Id test drive it....would be fun I think...and while it wont beat the SRT-10....definitely will be competition.

Well I think will be a neck and neck race down a 1/4mile track for these 2 trucks. But if I was planning on modding a truck I would go with the ford since its already supercharged which good bring you to around 550HP with supporting modd's.
or you could buy the ram, which isnt already pushed by forced induction. there is more room to build the V10...and afterall, the ram can make power without forced induction.
The current F-150 is a dog, and weighs so much, and theyre actually making it an extended cab (the S331), so I say it will be slower than the last Lightning.
Think about it folks, Our SRT-10's are pushing 500hp all ready naturally aspirated, with no mods what so ever. Add some cat back exhaust and drop in a hennessy super charger your going to wipe the pavement with that high dollar blue oval brick they call a truck. When you have the foundation's we do don't sweat the small stuff. I paid 30K for my srt10 regular cab with 5000 miles on it and I can drop a whole lot of money before I even come close to the price of that fancy smancy saleen truck

Not really true. The old lightning weighed 4700pounds and had 380HP. This car has 450HP and weighs around 5000pounds. So the extra 70HP makes up for the weight. So its like having an 04 lightning with a CAI and a new exhaust basically the same in performance.

. Wont start to worry until I see some impressive 60' slips on this truck. The SRT-10 is a total bitch to launch and there is little to no aftermarket upgrades in suspension and tires(DR's/Slicks). I will still put up pink slips on the track and especially on a road course against this pig.
