I want to convert my srtt-10 ram to automatic ..would it be easier to do it with the diesel 48re transmission? or possible the v10 automatic transmission? would that be a direct bolt-in? Any input or referrals would be greatly appreciated

 

Your best bet would be to wait 6 weeks and buy the parts from Dodge, as they will have all the bugs worked out. ****

It would take a lot to do it to the Regular Cab models w/ the 48RE. But why would you do it? The Regular Cab is a pure performance truck... it is setup for it. The Quad Cab model was created to make up for all the ticked off Viper owners who bought one, and couldn't tow their cars w/ it, because of the 900lbs rating and void of warranty. The Quad Cab SRT-10 is setup just for the fact.
