Greetings,

I am new to this forum and the SRT experience. I am currently driving a 2005 1500 Ram SLT Quad Cab (4X4) and had recently experienced a ride in a 2006 Ram SRT-10. Well, I have to say that I'm hooked! My lease is almost up on my Ram and I have the option of pick up a slightly used SRT-10 with only 3K miles on her. My only concern is the winter driving. Could some please post your views on the SRT in winter months. This would not be my daily driver, I have a company car for that. This would be a weekend car only. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

this ain't no winter ride....... it's a dry pavement screamer..... it's questionable as a rainy weather ride, too much power.

 

I agree. This truck will not go through the snow well. With that said an automatic may be easier than a manual.

 

i live in Michigan and i recently got an 06 QC srt10. She's definately going in the garage come late November. I've been out with her in the rain a few times and she does alright. You just have to remember that you have a ton of power going to those rear wheels. While the SRT10 takes some work to break loose on dry roads, she won't hesitate to get squirrelly on you if u blip the throttle a bit too much. If you're driving straight at safe speeds, you shouldnt have problems, just be very alert. When turning, take extra care to be delicate with the gas. Leaving the store in a damp parking lot, i swung her around without any effort (or planning!).
That naturally prompted me to go back and do a few donuts, but none-the-less.....be careful, lol.
Since she's not a daily driver, you shouldnt even hesitate in getting one. If the price is right, the SRT10 will likely be one of the best investments you ever make! I'm only 21 and my SRT10 will likely be the best car/truck i own till i retire. I got the deal of a lifetime on mine and if it wasnt for that, i'd be sitting here jealous of everyone who had one. I drive an 05 dakota qc and i could never have imagined a truck doing what this truck does. i thought my dakoter was a fairly nice truck (coming from a POS ford focus) but this thing makes it look like a freaking lil turdy toy (the dakota is still nice though, lol).

well, i say that it is driver skill this is bottom line.

i took my 2006 rc on a straight stretch of pavement in-20c about 5 days ago and this is in northern alberta canada about an hour drive from the NWT borderand took her to 125 mph and she ran perfectly. I have the volant cai so i assume that made the difference and i backed off due to inexperience, she just scared me.

Mine is a daily driver, living in northwest Arkansas we see just about all the weather you ca imagine. Does pretty good in snow and ice as long as you can control your right foot and shift like an old lady
