Ram SRT 10 delivery info
Thought I would pass on some info that might help future SRT 10 owners. On July 12th, my Milwaukee dealer called me and stated my SRT 10 was intransit from "Texas" and should be here within 10 days. I received a call today (July16th) and the dealer stated the "Viper engine and drivetrain" was shipped via railroad from Texas (actually from Viper's Mexico facility) enroute to the Belvidere, Illinois assembly plant. Revised delivery date is end of July.
I called a dealer in Chicago to see if this sounded right and looks like it is.
Steve White at Joliet Dodge....815-729-3343. Steve is a Dodge Ram truck expert. He ran a VIP report for me with the VIN# and gave me all of the build sheet info. So if your dealer is tracking your SRT 10 make sure he is tracking the assembled truck not the engine and drivetrain.
Also, Steve White is a great contact for Dodge trucks.

Final assembly is in Saltillo, Mexico, I don't know why they would send it to Belvidere.
The engine is produced in the States and the tranny in Mexico. I got this info off my window sticker.

Thanks for the info...I will contact the dealer on Monday. My salesman stated it was on a railcar currently in central Illinois enroute to Belvidere so I "assumed" that was the engine and drivetrain.
Would Dodge use Belvidere as a transportation staging point to offload railcars and load on to highway carriers????
Thanks again and I'll let you know when it arrives.

Thanks for the assistance. I found a few SRT 10's (at dealers) on Ebay and looked at their car photos. A few of the cars had a close up photo of the window sticker and yes they do state "final assembly" in Saltillo, Mexico as you mentioned.
I'm in that "take delivery" high anxiety mode so I appreciate any info and would like to pass on any info to future SRT 10 owners to lower their anxiety levels...that's what these forums are all about.
Thanks,
Nick
