Default Trying to get SRT-10 Ram

The dealership finally got an SRT-10 Ram in this week. I went up there and sat it it and they started it up for me. It was neat but I didn't really want it any more than I wanted my HEMI back, until they took me for a ride. I now have never wanted anything more in my life. I decided to not play football so I could work more towards this truck. I was talking to / begging my dad and threw a deal on the table and said I would pay for all insurance, gas, keep a's and b's in school, and pay him back for the truck. He told me to call my insurance agent and see what the insurance would cost for me to drive that and he then told me I'd probably get laughed at. The salesman called them and gave them my name and the VIN of the SRT-10. My current insurance is $2,800 per year. For me to drive that SRT-10 it would be $3,768 per year or $315 a month. I didn't get laughed at. It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. I told my dad that and he said we'd have a "heart to heart" tomorrow. If I could just get him up there to drive it he would be sold, the truck is incredible. How does it usually work when you pay the vehicle off by monthly payments?

How did you ever get them to take you out in an SRT-10 Ram? I don't know of any dealership that will do something like that.

Let me get this straight, all you have to do is get good grades and pay the insurance and misc. bills on it and your dad will make the truck payments every month right? That nust be nice.

I took delivery on my red SRT 10 yesterday (Friday-July 23)...from Kayser Dodge, Watertown, Wisconsin. My insurance (through American Express Insurance-Green Bay) is $1,100 per year. I have never had a ticket and I'm 55 years old so my rates are pretty low. I have owned 8 new Corvettes (last one was a 2001 Z06) so I'm use to these high horsepower vehicles. I am so impressed with this SRT 10...powerful but refine...only put 40 miles on it yesterday...more to come this afternoon. I will post my detail review in a few days.

Go get it...you only live once!! Not many only on sales floors.

They gave my dad a ride in it today, he said the guy gunned it and almost put him through the back window. I would also be paying him back for the truck. They aren't open tomorrow and my dad said we'd talk sometime before Monday.

With these very limited production numbers (2,500 for 2004) the Ram SRT 10 should retain their value as long as they are properly maintained. I have owned 8 new Corvettes over the past 22 years...the last one being a 2001 Z06. Always parked during the winter...basically a weekend toy. I never made any money on these cars but then I never lost much money either. I'll treat my SRT 10 the same way. Corvette production tops out at about 36,000 units per year so these Viper (2,000) and Ram SRT 10 (2,500) production numbers are extremely low.
