I have a bonus check coming in next month from work, plus in a few months it'll be income tax time. Anyone know how much a Viper motor would be? I have a idea about swapping out the 4.7L V8 in my '05 Ram QC but leaving the outside stock looking, except for switching out the hood for a SRT-10 model.

Any ideas?

When I bought mine, the salesman at the stealership said;

Roughly $7500 for a used engine. You then have exhaust, tranny, PCM, new complete rear and all the plumbing and cooling. You also should upgrade the brakes, stopping is important, although the SRT brake coolers will not work with the standard Ram bumper. Then you still do not have the red button There are other things suspension wise you would also be missing.

Taking everything into consideration you would be much better to get a SRT and put 20s on it, pull the ground effects and replace the bumpers, would be cheaper and easier if that is the look you are after.

Thats exactly the look I would be going for. People think they pull up on a Ram 1500 until I step on the gas. I figured it would probably be cheaper to just get a SRT then change everything out that way. Just thought I would ask though. I could drill a hole for the red button..LOL!!

If it helps you out any I know that a viper v-10 motor with the clutch, flywheel, and alternator headers that has 400 hp.Cost around 6,000 dollars. But you may be able to find a good deal on ebay for a 4.7L V8 I am not real sure about that.
