Default Volant C.A.I. ??

HEY MEN.....thanks for info on getting the dealer squared away.

Next ? Volant C.A.I. Is there any definitive conclusion if it works or not? Does it increase anything...MPG....HP? I have used a simple KN in both my motorcycle Stock 4.7 dodge RAM and saw some minimal gains. Is it worth it ? WillI need to remap the computer?

Next. 01....What is the best allaround replacment for the stock tires ? I am talking about the possible times of being in bad weather.

Thanks as always Bill

You will see about the asme gains with a Volant as you would with about all the other CAIs.

Can not answer the bad weather tires, I only look at ones that have dry performance

After I installed my volant I did see some performance gain. For example, while shifting quickly into 2nd at high RPM, my truck has more of a tendancy to pull sideways. It's not much, but its noticable in that regard. Besides, it sounds really cool to hear the hood scoop sucking in air with the hood down. BTW...Keep an eye out on ebay, I bought mine barely used for under $200. Also, Volant recommends using a prefilter with these if this is your daily driver. Although, I have been using mine as a daily, in rain, and I have not yet noticed any water damage to the filter.

Oh right...I did see some improved fuel consumption. I did pay attention to my city MPG keeping the RPM's at 2000 before and after. Before the install, I was getting 8.5 to 9.5 and after I am hitting 9.5 to 10.2 city MPG.

The tire that came on the Truck is rated for going fast as well as driving in the snow.... you need more than that?
