Default NEWBIE

Whats up dodgeforum! Just got my 1st SRT-10 on the 2nd of this month, (Blk. 04). AWESOME....Ive never owned anything like it. Looking forward to some future mods and some wicked story's....!!!
Just a quick question: How are some of you leaving the tree/line @ the drag strip?(Assuming you've dragged the vehicle for time purposes). Popping the clutch? Easing thru clutch as u leave the tree? Recommended shift points? Finale gear?
Anything would help.
Goin against my buddies 04 Lightning, (we are both bone stock).

Not going to go into to much detail here, but you have 4.10:1 gears in your stock '04 and that Lightning will be all over you at the start.
First thing I did was to get rid of the 4.10's and went to the 4.56:1.
Much better coming out of the hole and better in daily traffic.
Everybody drives a stick (manual trans.) a little different. But NEVER ride the clutch, you'll burn-it-up! With the 4.56's I'm coming off the line at 1400-1800/rpm and let the hammer fall!

Congrats on your new ride and Welcome to the board!

Depending on weather and track conditions you want to get yourRPMs to 2K-3K, sometimes you can even push a little more if you feel daring, then pop the clutch. If you try to slip the clutch and apply to much power you will destroy the stock clutch.

I did not seem to have that problem, but I did have my exhaust done.
