Hey all! I have a 98 ram van 1/2 ton with 3.9 3 speed. I went to replace the upper ball joint and broke it loose to find that it only spins and will not come out. Any ideas on how to get this ball joint out without wasting the control arm? If not, I want to take the upper control arm off and replace it with one i have. Would i have to remove the springs/shocks to do this? or can I just relieve the spring tension? Direction in this matter would be appreciated. the chiltons is not very concise. Thank you.

Hey all. Just wanted to update. I found a guy a block from me that put a control arm and ball joint on for 120$!!! parts and labor. The next cheapest was 300$ which is why I was going to do it myself. later.

What I did was order a Complete Suspension kit with Polyurethane bushing from p-s-t.com for 227.00, paid 320.00 to have it installed, it's probably gonna last far longer tha the van with the poly bushings and proper lubing.
