Where is the OBD Connection 96 Ram
Hey everyone, I'm new here and did a quick search but couldn't find what I'm looking for. My father has 1996 Dodge Ram Conversion Van. Would anyone happen to know where we can find the OBD connection? He said he's looked under the dash in both the driver's side and passengers side and can't find it. Also, would a 96 have OBDI or OBDII? Thanks!
The 1996 would have the OBDII.
Are you trying to clear an existing code or to check for one or more?
The Chrysler vehicles are easy to check without a scan tool. Just turn the key on/off three times without starting and look at either the digital odometer or count the "check engine" light flashes.
As for where the connector is, look at the fuse box next to the battery. Somewhere there you may find it. It could also be tucked up under the dash on the drivers side right above the break pedal.
Peace!
Stev
