2 things left to hook up!
hi guys, new to the forums, got a question, i got a few more things to do to my van before i can start it up for the first time. i just rebuilt the engine, its in the sig i think. i have to fill it with fluids and put the ignition system back together.
ballast resistor- theres a black wire that is grounded to the engine and another that comes out of the wireing harness. does it matter what one goes on what side of the resistor?
ignition coil- i got three wires, (a black one which is already grounded to a thing that bolts to the intake manifold), a black with yellow stripe and a blue wire that come out of the wiring harness. so those two last wires.
think thats it... then i can prime it and start it..... i hope!
thanks for the info! i really want to try and start this thing this weekend!
i can get a picture of it too if needed, just ask

Hi, Send me a email addy and I will send you some recent pics of my van engine since before I removed mine for rebuild I took several pics of the upper side as a reference when hooking things back up.
My engine was easy pull as far as im concerned, I pulled the front off and took off the intake and heads and simply took a cement block between the front seats and a long 2x4 and lifted the block and slide it right out. Did the same for reinstall but was a bit more careful as not to scuff the paint.
I bet next time you will mark your wires and such....why didnt you prime the pump before now?
I always prime a new pump with 50 weight and the when the shortblock is together before the cam I always use a big screwdriver cut off in a drill to get oil through the system.
If I were you id get oil in it and crank it for a bit a few times with no spark till you see some pressure on your guage.....sm blk mopars are known to just suck air if not primed right...
Good luck with your new engine.
