My check gauges light comes on and off randomly. It seems to happen more when braking or coming to a stop. All of the fluid levels seem fine.Has anyone had this problem? What could be causing this?

 

Your idle might be dropping low enough to the point where the alternator isn't putting out any power. The computer in such a case turns on the light thinking that the alternator is dead. Of course if your idle is okay then the alternator itself could be on the verge failing.
