Default Adding cruise control

Does anyone have advice regarding adding cruise control on a 2000 Ram 3500 15 passenger van? Do aftermarket ones perform well? Is there even an option of adding OEM equipment? I am about to sell my 1996 van with factory cruise control; could I strip the cruise control from it to put in the 2000 van? Any suggestions are welcome.

Factory cruise control is controlled by the vehicle computer. This makes adding factory CC at this point rather expensive. You can pickup a decent aftermarket one for around $100 and install it within a few hours. Having a wiring diagram from your vehicle can be very helpful for the installation.

Keith,

It's hard to say if the 1996 parts would work in the 2000 van. The reason being that after 1998 some detailed items with the Ram Van/Wagons changed. Also, the biggest change is with the computer. If the cruise control has to report to the computer, this could get weird.

Aftermarket cruise controls are not really bad as technology has improved them.
