I have a '97 2500 extended van, 5.2L 4 speed. My Tranny went out all of a sudden, 1 minute I'm driving down the road and the next everything is gone. No forward gears or reverse! It had been leaking a little fluid out of the front, and that morning it made kind of a funny squealing sound for a minute when I first started it. But it was full of fluid at the time. Can anybody out there tell me if maybe its the front pump or what? Is it just shot, and time to replace. Rebuild is really expensive and the cheapest salvage tranny with a guarantee and low miles is around 850.
do these prices sound about right or do I need to keep shopping or just fix this one? Pleaase help!!!
