Outside/Inside air controller

Outside/Inside air controller
I have a 1991 Ram250 Van with a 318 in it. I have misplaced my "Haynes" book for this Van so I need help. I have one side of my vacuum controlled controller for my Outside/Inside air door not working. This vacuum controller is located behind the right headlight. How is the easiest way to replace it?

RE: Outside/Inside air controller
Yes, it's a vacuum canister actuator. It's somewhat easy to replace if you can get at it.
Usually, it's the seal inside the vacuum canister actuator that goes bad. BUT, first make sure that the outside/inside air door works back-n-forth after you take the vacuum canister actuator off. If it doesn't move with it off, then the air-door has seized due to a rusty metal shaft or a hold clip has become dis-loged.
I've made my air-door to stay in the outside position on my 2001 B2500. During the winter, if it's in the inside position, the windows fog up inside too much. [&:]
