Hello there well a few months ago i went on a trip to RI and i was on my way home and my check engine light went on, and my transmission was skipping i didn't know what was quite wrong with it, i took it to be checked out the guy told me Its $2000 to fix , he said 3rd gear was skipping, Im 18 years old and don't have that much money and i don't want to get rid of the van i need it have already put alot of money in to it, is there anyway they can just fix that gear with out rebuilding the whole thing? thanks for your help! - Amanda

 

Opps forget the year and model its a 1999 Dodge Ram Van 1500 thanks!

 

If you have someone that can do the swap for you, just buy a used one from a junkyard ($500 or so) and swap it out. That's really your only other alternative.
