Angry Help!!!

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 Conversion Van. Yesterday after I jumped in it and drove about 2 miles, parked it and left it running, when I went to put it in reverse it stalled. Then it turns over but doesn't want to start. I let it sit for about 10 minutes and it started but stalled out when put in reverse again. Did the same thing today after letting warm up (Minnesota is cold!), however, no problems backing out of the garage after it was cold. Where to start, I've seen many posts about checking the crankshaft position sensor, but not sure since it don't want to start after it stalls. Thanks for your help!

My guess would be the NSS the neutral safety switch. Try tweaking the gearshift when It refuses to start.
Mine has 3 wires going to it and is on the Drivers side of the tranny.
I don't know about your year.

Um sorry landyacht but you missed the boat on this one. If the neutral safety switch were an issue the starter would not turn. That is not the case here, the starter does turn and in fact the engine will start. I suspect the problem has to do with a sticky IAC valve not reacting fast enough to increase the idle when shifting into gear.

this is what my van did, It started then when you put it in reverse it would stall out, then about ten minutes later it would start agian. it would go into drive just fine, but once it went into reverse it would stall and the asd relay and the feul relay wouldnt work. then a few minutes later it would start, and now it doesnt start at all. turns over like a dream but no start.

Today we check the relays, and power probed them and it still wouldnt start, then we check the sensor that is on the tranny ( maybe the crank sensor), and there was alittle oil on it and we wiped it off and it fired right up... i dont know...
