Help!!!
I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 Conversion Van. Yesterday after I jumped in it and drove about 2 miles, parked it and left it running, when I went to put it in reverse it stalled. Then it turns over but doesn't want to start. I let it sit for about 10 minutes and it started but stalled out when put in reverse again. Did the same thing today after letting warm up (Minnesota is cold!), however, no problems backing out of the garage after it was cold. Where to start, I've seen many posts about checking the crankshaft position sensor, but not sure since it don't want to start after it stalls. Thanks for your help!
Um sorry landyacht but you missed the boat on this one.
If the neutral safety switch were an issue the starter would not turn. That is not the case here, the starter does turn and in fact the engine will start. I suspect the problem has to do with a sticky IAC valve not reacting fast enough to increase the idle when shifting into gear.
