i have a dodgeram van 2500 v8 5.2 and the van wont switch over to first gear when i put it in drive it wont drive foward just drifts back as i hit the gas but it goes in reverse fine wit out a problem what could the problem be iam thinking the transmission but its a 94 wit only 96k miles on it

 

Since reverse works but forward does not then the trans has gone out. Unfortunately it is rebuild time. You could try pulling the selector down to Low 1 and see if it will move, but I doubt that will make a difference.
