Default Stalling and Irregular Starts need help!

HI,
I've got a 96' ram van with the 5.2L V8. When I'm driving and take my foot off the accelerator to brake, the engine stalls. The engine oil pressure gauge is low often as well. I have no idea what the problem is. The battery is fine.

The other issue is the ignition. 90 percent of the time, the started just clicks, and after maybe 10 turns of the key, it will finally start turning, and it starts fine, I'm guessing that it is the starter that needs to be replaced?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Rob

Starting Issue with the van if the battery is fine check the cables and make sure the terminals are clean and tight and you have a good ground. After that make sure there is not a loose connection at the starter where the cable are bolted too, if ok you will probably need to replace the starter take it off and have it checked. On the stalling issue, you could have a couple of issues possible fuel pressure or idle air control valve or IAC motor. Do you have a check engine light on?

I agree, replace the starter and take the IAC valve off and clean it.

Awesome.

Figured it was the starter.

I'll check out the IAC. Is it possibly the TPS as well?

Thanks for the help!

Default Stalling

Why would the starter stall the truck once it's running?

My truck shuts off while driving and then starts when it wants, although there is no clicking sound. Does this sound like different problem.
