Default Brakes Dodge Ram Van 1500

My '99 conversion van, with 96000 miles has had brakes problems on and off since 11000 miles. It mainly involves the passenger front brakes locking up. I had multiple brake "adjustments", three set of calipers. Finally I replaced the axel (or "knuckle" as the dealer called it) thinking it wasn't plumb. The old knuckle was pitted and rusted. Well, I had made it about 25000 miles without a problem - until today. Just like before the right front brakes are not releasing and when my wife got home the whole chrome wheel was smoking hot. I let it cool down then drove it to back it up in reverse and apply the brakes to see if that would free it up. It did not. Now when you apply the brakes you better hang on to the steering wheel as upon braking the Van will turn 45 to 60 degrees to the left.

Any suggestions from the Forum members would be most appreciated.

Your caliper is seized on the right side. Replace. When you do your brakes you turn your rotors on both sides and replace the pads on both sides right?

The caliper was seized. So we replaced both, turned the rotors and put in new pads. However, this is the fifth, that's right 5th, caliper that has frozen up all on the passenger side. I bought the van new, then the dealer replaced both original calipers at 12,000 miles. Then
Car-X put on new ones at 42000 and at 61000 and now again at 96000. Everytime its been the passenger side caliper that seizes up. Anyone else experience this?

These vans have front ABS brakes. Maybe it's an ABS electrical problem that is messing up the mechanical side of things. Just a thought.
