Default upgrades for big van

I just bought a 99 ram van 3500 with a 5.9. it was making a pinging sound so i did some research on this forrum and found out the bad news about plenums. i just had a hughes plenum kit and 180 thermostat put on. i also had a complete tune up with plugs wires and caps done. what a difference that made. i was wondering what other upgrades are avaliable to the ram van? i was looking at a cold air intake but it seems they are all for ram pick ups.

I am working on a switchable power IAT power mod. Should have it done in two weeks or less with two maintenance items being done with it.

The IAT power mod that I am working on will call for adding a second IAT sensor to the air cleaner. In theory the second sensor will allow colder reading of the intake air and therefor give the engine a little more fuel for more HP. The original mod called for just moving the current IAT to the air cleaner housing but the down side is the mpg goes down and the catalytic converter clogs up sooner. So with a switch and second sensor you can call for more HP when you want and need it then go back to the original sensor for economy.

The HP gain will be a little, nothing drastic. I have a plan on testing the results once I have this mod ready.

On cold air intake if you don't mind the look you can try to get the air cleaner housing that goes on top of the throttle body and use PVC pipe to get the cold air from say in front or beside the cabin air intake just below and in front of the HVAC box behind and below the right headlamp.

I have not tried it but have put some thought into it.
