This is one mod I am glad I did. I have used it several times, twice I had someone with me and when I punched the pedal to the floor and switched the mod on they both could hear and feel the response of the motor. A coworker even asked "What in the world was that?" He had driven the van a few years ago and never felt the power it had that morning. All I was doing was picking up speed from 50 to 80 mph to pass a slow truck on the highway, took about 6 seconds to pass the fellow.

Still working on the idea of having the switching done automatically. I have a couple of switches that would work, just figuring out the best way to install and use them. I would like to have lights on the dash to indicate when the mod is in power mode. Current set up with the PCM does not allow me to do that but one of the two switches would allow a second circuit to be installed with the lamps.

You could put a "God Mode" label under the bulbs.

"God Mode" is commonly used in software and gamer circles for a setting that grants you ultimate power within the realm of the software or video game.

Removed the K&N air filter. Will not be reusing it.

Found holes in it that would allow dust to get through, I don't like that at all! This is not the first one I have tired. Back in 04 I had one in my Impala and after 20K found the same exact thing. I will not be trying another one.

Well that really sucks considering the cost of those things.

BTW, stop messing around with your van and go paint that garage.

Great idea.

Its 90F here in Texas now and I noticed the power drop so I was giving this some thought. Since this sensor is just a thermistor I think a 50 cent resistor should do the same job. Will pursue this and post a follow up.

Be interesting if the 50 cent resistor works. Problem I see is that the PCM will only see one tempature constintly which in my opinion will throw the CEL in short order. Are you going to have it switchable or just bypass the IAT in the manifold?

I agree. My thought was once I determine the value needed, I will try this using a toggle switch.. or maybe even a microswitch under the accelerator pedal

I need to find where my IAT sensor is on my 97 b2500 3.9.Where is it located?I gather I only cut one wire in half from the IAT (what colored wire?)and the other I just tie into.As for the shielding its the braid around the 3 wires to the switch,Right? And I ground it to the alt ground(is it necessary?) I think I have it figured out now ,I just have to cut the right wire from the IAT in half and connect the 2 wires from the switch to the 2 cut wires and then tap into the other IAT wire.I hope that's right.I saw a Iat sensor at auto zone for my van and a pigtail its just the stock IAT that I install in the air cleaner,Right?
Thanks
Sorry about stupid questions having a bad thinking day.
