Water Pump Ramblings
OK, I've seen a lot of crappy engineering during my years of wrenching on cars and trucks but I have to give a "razzberry" to Dodge.
THPBBBBBBBTBTZBBTHZ! [spit flying everywhere]
The threaded shaft on the water pump hub is just plain STUPID. So is the fact that a special tool is required to loosen the nut holding the fan & viscous fan drive onto the pump.
I wonder if Fiat does dumb crap like this?

Fiat is Italian. The one thing I do like about true European cars is that their engines use less fuel but have better torque than what we have here.
Another fun item with the water pump/fan clutch is the pulleys that do not have bolts in them, some from Auto Zone have the pully and shaft molded as one unit with no bolts. I found that you have to slip bolts into the holes and then use the tools to loosen the fan clutch.
