I have a 1994 Ram Van 2500. Every seventh to tenth time I apply the brake pedal it goes to the floor and braking is not as responsive and if I take my foot off and re-apply the pedal acts normally and normal braking occurs. I have checked the brakes and brake fluid and all appear to be good. Any Ideas?

 

How old is the master cylinder?

 

I believe it is the original one. We bought the van used about six years ago.

 

I'd say it's fairly worn by now and is likely the source of the problems you're having.
