Default Wacky brake behavior

'95 B3500 with rear axle ABS

ABS and Brake light comes on randomly. Sometimes it wont come on for miles and other times its on when the van rolls. Never the same light on time.

Occasionally the abs will kick in and I feel the pedal fall and hear the "chirp." It never happens on hard braking. Usually its low speed stuff like in a parking lot or at a traffic light.

Rear brakes were rebuilt when I got it, since there was a rear axle leak. Front brakes were also rebuilt recently.

Cheap scanners dont find any codes.

I asked the service weenie at a local dealer and his "I duuno" could only be solved with a $72 computer hookup fee.

I'm guessing this has happened to others and thought I might get a lead on what the heck Chrysler was thinking on this system.

I didnt find any relevant results using the search.

TIA,

-Pete

Most likely the problem is the ABS sensor going bad. It's on the top front of the differential.
