Default ecu 2001 dodge ram van 2500

Hey, got a quick question about my 2001 dodge ram van 2500. My ecu went bad and i'm trying to find out if I can get the same one maybe from a junk yard if it would work in mine or for this year model I would have to get a new one from dodge and have them program it? Thanks

I think ECMs have 8yrs coverage depending on in service date- worth checking into.

If you match the number off the sticker, it will be an exact replacement. Try here to find yourself a used one.

ECUs are pre-1994.

PCMs are after 1994.

Thus, yours is a PCM.

www.cardone.com should have your PCM. Do NOT get a Ram Truck PCM. It has different engine control items that will mess up your van.
