Failed inspection for suspension - wheel rock
hmmm... ball joints tie rod wheel bearing... wat way does the wheel rock? Have a budy shake wheel and look underneath to see where the play is.... if you took it to a shop they should have told you the component that failed... excess wheel rock? What the **** does that men? Time to get a new garage to look at your van
some good questions but in NJ our DMV inspection station does the testing and we are not allowed to be in the center with them and they just print as I stated FAIL for suspension - wheel rock no further info. I will start with lifting it myself and shake the wheel. I'll repost when i see something myself
Well, I'm no fan of the NJ DMV (or ANY part of The Garden State's government for that matter) but they surely saved you from a suspension failure and probable accident/mishap down the road.
Back when I was a kid my '70 VW Beetle failed a NJ DMV brake test at their Speedwell Ave location in Morristown. After giving the attendant some undeserved lip for "screwing up my brakes and costing me a tow" I saw that he actually saved me from the ominous fate of driving with very rusty brake lines.
During the braking test my front left wheel cylinder ejected it's hydraulic line and sprayed fluid all over the tire and axle beam. The drum brakes in those cars were marginal at best and a failure would have certainly cost me time in the hospital -- or worse.
I'm sure fixing your so-called wheel rock will be a simple and inexpensive task versus allowing it to continue unchecked.
